Mexican · Casamigos
Casamigos was built to be drunk neat, and the reposado rests seven months in American oak. That gives it vanilla and caramel that most margarita tequilas do not have.

The one thing that matters
This makes a different drink, not a worse one. The oak sits under the lime and gives the whole thing weight. Cut the orange liqueur back so the vanilla is not buried.
Yes, and a Casamigos Reposado margarita is genuinely good. The oak and vanilla add weight the blanco version does not have. Use slightly less orange liqueur so the barrel notes come through.
It is smooth and it is easy to drink neat, which is what you are paying for. In a margarita with fresh lime it works well. In a drink made from sour mix, any tequila would do.
