Cuban · Bacardi
The daiquiri was invented in Cuba and Bacardi started in Santiago de Cuba in 1862, so this is the original pairing rather than a marketing one. Superior is charcoal filtered and lightly aged, which leaves it clean enough to let lime and sugar do the talking.

The one thing that matters
This drink has three ingredients and nowhere to hide. Squeeze the lime fresh, measure the syrup, and shake it properly cold. Bottled lime juice ruins it faster than a cheap rum ever would.
Yes, it is the traditional choice. The daiquiri is Cuban and so is Bacardi. Use Superior, the white one, with fresh lime and simple syrup. Avoid the pre-made strawberry mixes if you want the real drink.
You can, and it makes a rounder, slightly sweeter drink with a little vanilla from the barrel. It is not the classic, but it is not wrong. White rum keeps the lime bright, which is the point of the original.
Two ounces of rum, one ounce of fresh lime juice, three quarters of an ounce of simple syrup. Shake hard with ice and double strain. No ice in the finished glass.
