The Sunday difference, in one line
We are open and selling from 11:00 AM on Sundays. A great many stores across Georgia cannot start until 12:30 PM.
If you have ever turned up somewhere at half eleven on a Sunday and been told to come back later, that is why. It is worth knowing which shops start when, because the gap is ninety minutes and it always seems to fall exactly when you need something.
Why the times differ from town to town
Georgia does not set one Sunday time for the whole state. Sunday package sales exist only where local voters approved them, and in 2018 the state went further and let communities vote to move their Sunday start from 12:30 PM back to 11:00 AM. That law is usually called the Brunch Bill.
Some cities took the earlier hour and some did not, which is why two shops fifteen minutes apart can open at different times on the same Sunday. Doraville is on the earlier hour and we open at 11:00 AM.
Monday to Saturday is simpler. State law allows packaged alcohol from 8:00 in the morning until 11:45 at night, and most shops, including this one, choose to open later than eight.
Holidays
Georgia leaves Christmas Day to each county and city rather than banning it statewide, so it genuinely varies from one town to the next. Thanksgiving, New Year and the Fourth of July are normal trading days here.
