Georgia beer is worth the shelf it takes
Monday Night Brewing, Creature Comforts, Sweetwater and Terrapin are all made close enough that the beer is fresher than anything shipped in, and hops fade fast. If you have only ever bought the national brands, a six-pack of something made an hour away is the cheapest upgrade in the shop.
Georgia whiskey too
ASW distil in Atlanta and were the first whiskey distillery inside the city since Prohibition. Thirteenth Colony are down in Americus. Neither is a novelty purchase - they are good whiskey that happens to be local, which is the right order for those two facts.
